Course Types
MKDSCPLS offers three types of courses, each designed for different learning contexts:
Self-Guided Courses
Self-guided courses let you learn at your own pace. You can start anytime, work through sessions whenever it's convenient, and there's no group or leader involvement required. These are perfect for independent study.
- Enroll instantly — no approval needed
- Work through sessions in order, at your own speed
- Complete workbook exercises and reflection questions on your own
- Take assessments to measure your personal growth
Facilitated Courses
Facilitated courses are led by a group leader who guides the learning experience. These courses are typically part of a small group or class at your church.
- Enrollment requires leader approval
- Sessions follow a schedule set by your leader
- Your workbook responses and reflections are visible to your leader
- Leaders can provide discussion guides and additional context
- Great for deeper engagement and accountability
Flexible Courses
Flexible courses (labeled "Flexible" in the catalog) combine the best of both. You can take them on your own as a self-guided experience, or a leader can assign them to a group for facilitated study. The course content is the same either way.
Course Tiers
Courses are organized into tiers that represent depth and complexity:
- Foundations — introductory courses for new believers or those exploring faith
- Growth — intermediate courses that deepen understanding
- Maturity — advanced courses for seasoned believers
- Leadership — courses designed for those who lead or teach others
