Joining a Discipleship Group
Discipleship groups are where real growth happens — studying Scripture together, sharing your journey, and encouraging one another along the way. Here's everything you need to know about joining and participating in a group.
How You Get Added
There are a few ways you might join a discipleship group:
- Email invitation — your group leader sends you an invite with group details and login information. Click the link in the email to accept
- Direct add — your leader adds you directly from their dashboard. You'll receive an email notification when this happens
- Invite link — your leader shares a join link (in person, via text, etc.). Click it to automatically join the group
- Trip group — if you're on a mission trip, your trip leader may create a discipleship group for the team. You'll be added automatically
What to Expect
Once you're part of a group, here's what you'll find:
- Course content — you'll be auto-enrolled in the group's assigned course. Work through the modules at the pace your leader sets — sometimes one module per week, sometimes faster
- Sessions — your leader may schedule regular meeting times (in person or virtual) tied to specific course modules. These are where discussion and fellowship happen
- Reading plans — some groups include daily Scripture reading alongside the course. You can track your progress on the reading plan page
- Discussion prompts — many modules include reflection or discussion questions. Complete these before your group meets so you're ready to share
Getting the Most from Your Group
- Stay current — complete each module before your group meeting so discussions are meaningful
- Show up consistently — regular attendance builds trust and deepens relationships
- Be honest — the best groups are ones where members can share real questions and struggles
- Apply what you learn — look for one practical takeaway from each session to put into practice during the week
Navigating Your Group
Find your group on the Dashboard or in the Groups section of the sidebar. Click into your group to see the course materials, upcoming sessions, and your progress through the content.
