Inviting Friends to MKDSCPLS
The "Invite a Friend" feature gives you a personal share link that you can send to anyone — a friend, family member, fellow church member, or even a pastor or ministry leader from another church. They pick how they want to start, you get credit for bringing them in.
Your personal link
Every member has one persistent link with a unique 6-character code (something like RK4F2X). It's yours forever — copy it, scan the QR code, or send it via email. Each successful redemption is tracked back to you.
Three ways your friend can join
When someone clicks your link, they see three options:
- Join you at your church — the default. They'll create an account and be added to your organization. Best for people in your circle who don't have a church platform yet.
- Just create a free account — no church affiliation. Best for friends who want to explore reading plans, take assessments, or use Scripture memory tools without joining your specific church.
- Start their own organization — for pastors, ministry leaders, or anyone who wants to set up MKDSCPLS for their own church or ministry. You still get credit for bringing them to the platform.
What your friend sees on the landing page
The link opens to a clean welcome page that shows:
- Your first name (e.g., "Robert invited you to MKDSCPLS")
- Your church or organization name and logo
- A short explanation of what MKDSCPLS is — reading plans, courses, group tools
- The three options above
To protect your privacy, your last name, email, and city are never shown publicly. Just your first name and your organization name.
Tracking who joined through you
Inside the modal, you'll see a list titled "People who've joined through you" with each successful redemption — their name and which organization they ended up in. This updates automatically as people accept your invite.
How many people can use my link?
Each personal link defaults to a maximum of 25 successful redemptions — generous enough to share with friends and small groups over time, but not so unlimited that a misplaced link could be misused. If you hit that cap and want a fresh slot, contact your church admin.
Already a MKDSCPLS member?
If someone clicks your link and already has an account, they'll just be signed in to their existing dashboard. They won't get added to your church as a secondary member — we keep that simple.
Best practices
- Add a personal note when sharing — "Hey, this is the platform I've been using for my Bible reading" lands better than a cold link.
- Use the QR code for in-person conversations — over coffee or after church.
- Use email for friends who'd want a bit more context — the modal pre-fills a friendly subject line and message you can edit.
- If a friend is a pastor or leader, point them to the third option ("start their own organization") so they're not joining your church by accident.
Questions?
If something's not working or your link isn't behaving as expected, use the "Send Feedback" link in the sidebar or email [email protected].
