Course Assessments

How pre and post assessments work, how they measure growth, and understanding radar charts.

What Are Assessments?

Assessments are short questionnaires at the beginning and end of a course. They are not tests — there are no right or wrong answers. Instead, they measure your perspective, understanding, and confidence on the course topics so you can see how you've grown.

Pre-Assessment

The pre-assessment appears when you first start a course. It asks you to rate your agreement with various statements related to the course material on a scale. Answer honestly based on where you are right now — the goal is to establish a starting baseline, not to score well.

Post-Assessment

After completing all course sessions, you'll be invited to take the post-assessment. It asks the same or similar questions as the pre-assessment. By comparing your before and after responses, you can see tangible evidence of your growth.

Understanding Your Results

Your assessment results are displayed as a radar chart (also called a spider chart). Each axis of the chart represents a different dimension of the course topic. The chart overlays your pre- and post-assessment scores so you can visually see:

Growth, Not Grades

Assessments are about personal growth, not performance. Your results are visible to you and (in facilitated courses) to your leader for encouragement and follow-up. They are never used punitively or compared against other participants.

Retaking Assessments

If you re-enroll in a course, you can retake the assessments to see continued growth over time. Previous assessment data is preserved so you can track your long-term development.
