Available Translations
MKDSCPLS supports multiple Bible translations so you can read Scripture in the version you're most comfortable with. Available translations include:
- NIV (New International Version) — a balance of accuracy and readability. One of the most widely used modern translations.
- NLT (New Living Translation) — a thought-for-thought translation that prioritizes clarity and natural English. Great for newer readers.
- ESV (English Standard Version) — a word-for-word translation that maintains literary quality. Popular for study.
- KJV (King James Version) — the classic English translation with traditional language. Beloved for its literary beauty.
- NASB (New American Standard Bible) — one of the most literally accurate English translations. Excellent for detailed study.
Switching Translations
You can switch your preferred Bible translation in several places:
- Account settings — set your default translation that applies everywhere on the platform.
- In-context switching — when viewing a Scripture passage in a course or reading plan, you may see a translation selector that lets you compare versions on the fly.
Which Translation Should I Use?
There's no single "best" translation. Here are some guidelines:
- If you're new to Bible reading, try NLT for its clear, natural language.
- If you want a general-purpose translation, NIV is a great choice.
- If you're doing detailed study, ESV or NASB stay closer to the original language structure.
- If you enjoy traditional language, KJV has a beauty and rhythm that many find meaningful.
Many experienced readers use multiple translations — one for daily reading and another for deeper study. The platform makes it easy to switch between them.
